About Me

I'm a lover of art.  Art in the general sense. All types of art.  I don't discriminate.

What I look for is something that moves me, that connects to my inner most core and forces me in it's silence to stop and take notice.  To me that doesn't mean that the artist has to have years and years of highly developed technique nor does it mean that their art is strictly spontaneous and visceral.  Whatever the artist's statement, it has to come deep from within, be considered and speak.  That's what I fawn over.  It's the pounce, it's the stepping out on a limb, it's the progressiveness and the vulnerability that an artist doesn't consider as such because it's just what they do.  And that's what I'd like to share with you.

Welcome to my blog.

Early on in my exploration I was greatly inspired by the artists of the surrealistic and impressionist movements.  A lot of my learning came from seeing pictures of paintings in books.  I grew up in a small town so my development took place between me, a canvas and tool box filled with oil paints in the corner of my room.

Post college, I was exposed to the decorative arts when I landed a job as an artist in a boutique studio in Santa Monica, CA.  Needless to say my approach and my style has changed a bit. At that point I had already had two art openings in Chelsea, NY at Agora Gallery and Amsterdam Whitney.  I now found myself working on projects for interior designers and private clients.

I've had the pleasure of working on one of the most expensive houses built in the America, twice. The price tag of the property isn't what really impressed me; the hundreds of laborers, artists, artisans and craftsmen that I worked along side however did.

I now have my own studio and take on private commissions and projects. I'm continuing on in painting with Old World techniques, but am contemporizing them in a way that I can relate to and that speaks to my present day audience.

In addition to my "proper" paintings, murals, canvas and such, I paint fine art objects.  They're precious, they're special and they're one-of-a-kind gems of exquisite happiness.

I've had the pleasure of working on projects for interior designers and clients such as Peter Marino, Michael S. Smith, Mark Enos, Peter Schifando, J. Jonathan Joseph, Kristen Buckingham, Quintus Showroom, Ty Warner, Tina Sinatra, Nancy Reagan, among others.
